Agricola Strategy

AGRICOLA STRATEGY

Before starting with the game, Agricola, the players are required to set their strategy. The players must decide their moves prior to the game so that they can improve their chances of winning the game. They have to be very active in thinking and also changing their moves as per the changing game and per the benefit keeping in mind the moves of the other party in the game. They must decide whether they want to expand the family or not. Family expansion requires a lot of thinking as they need to make proper arrangements to maintain the family members. Once they expand the family, they will need more rooms in the house. There must be enough food supply and that too with minimum expenditure. But expansion of family means more hands for working too. Therefore, the players must pay attention to the fact that they have to keep the food stock for the animals as well on the farm.

And last but not the least; the supply must be perennial throughout the game. A good strategy to win the game would be not to take up too many occupations for earning. The players must just stick to 2 or 4 occupations and work on them efficiently and laboriously. Another thing to be kept in mind is not to spend much on the renovations. Two or three rooms can be wooden while the rest can take help of the clay as that’s cheaper. Before leaping for the travelling front, wait for a few turns to secure your position in the game. If the players have much of the farming land, they must not use it for too many varieties of crop. Take 2-3 grains and the rest may be chosen from some vegetable. It would prove to be help for the livestock as well as the family. Or if the players have more to spend, they must increase the number of grains. But the players must think hard before investing in the livestock.
