BATTLESHIP STRATEGY
Battleship is an exciting game and can be very gripping once you start playing. Placement of ships can be an important strategy. The way one places each ship should be done carefully. However there is hardly any strategy one can use efficiently as this is partially rather almost a guessing game.
Cluttering the game board should be avoided. Placing ships at close ends with each other can make the opponent guess easily. Also, try and avoid intersection of boats. This can lead to easy understanding of placements by the opponent. There should be enough spacing in between the ships to confuse the opponent. Once you understand the way your opponent is playing, the common areas he is trying to hit, attack on the same lines. Be very careful about the way of playing. Mark your pegs closely and follow a strategy that will result in sinking all the ships of the opponent player.
Try following a pattern. Start from top left and then slowly move towards bottom right. Try hitting the corners and then moving to the center. You will easily be able to hit the battleships in this fashion. After finishing these areas your red pegs will show you the little gaps in between the board that will be useful in hitting the smaller hidden ships. One can even try doing the big X first. During all this time be careful that your opponent does not recognize your strategy so try altering a bit. Also remember that your opponent is playing hard to sink all your ships and you have got to sink his before your own.
Therefore instead of firing at random spots one must use these patterns and go horizontally, diagonally or vertically. Once you understand the logic of the game no one can beat you.
