NINE MENS MORRIS RULES
The basic rule of the game is to get the opponent down to two pieces, or preventing him from making any further legal moves. This game is played on a board marked with three concentric squares with lines connecting the squares, making three points on each of all the sides. Giving a total of 24 points on the board that is used for the placement of pieces.
The player starts by placing a piece on the desired point on the board, one piece per move! Each of the two players gets 9 pieces. They are moved by the player in such a manner so as to get three in an alignment. This formation of the pieces is termed ‘milli.’ When such a milli is formed, one piece of the opponent is removed from the board. The player has the freedom to move the pieces on all the 24 points, one point at a time to get the three-in-a-row formation.
Once either of the player’s falls down to three pieces, that player gets the legal move of jumping on any of the desired point. Allowing for a greater mobility and setting up a defense against the opponent.
