SCRABBLE STRATEGY
While it is important to make high scoring words, it is also necessary to think of the words you leave behind on the rack and whether they are high point tiles that don’t combine well together. Often playing fewer letters in Scrabble helps to get the tiles you need to make a bigger and better play. And at other times, playing a longer word with a lower score gives you the chance to get a whole new and fresh pack of letters.
If you are continuously making low-scoring words, and there is absolutely no hidden gem in the rack of words you have at present, then it might be a good idea to exchange your tiles for fresh ones. But remember leave as few high point tiles in your rack as possible.
Always look to make new words parallel to the ones already existing on the board. This way, you not only get points for your own new word but also for the words formed in conjunction with it.
Take maximum advantage of the hot spots or bonus squares. A double word or triple word when added to a double or triple letter can increase your points significantly.
Hook one or two letters to an existing word and watch your scorecard grow. For example adding a G to HOST or CO to MET can be quite gainful.
Managing your letters on the rack by keeping the prefixes on the left and suffixes on the right can help you to organize your thoughts as well. The rules section can give you a better idea to master this game.
