SEQUENCE RULES
The game can be played among 2 to 12 players. Depending on the number of players the cards allotted to each player is as follows;
- For 2 players 7 cards each
- For 3 players 6 cards each
- For 4 players 6 cards each
- For 6 players 5 cards each
- For 8 players 4 cards each
- For 9 players 4 cards each
- For 10 players 3 cards each
- For 12 players 3 cards each
Two colors of chips are chosen and the third color is kept away from the game board. Team players must be evenly divided into two teams. Team members must alternate their physical positions with opponents around the playing surface. Players cut cards and lowest card deals - Aces are high. Shuffle the cards and deal out the same number of cards to each player. The remaining cards are laid down as draw deck, facing down. Each player is now handed with a set of cards and some colored token.
The game resumes as a particular player draws a card from his set, and places a token on the board depicting that drawn card. The play moves in a clock wise order i.e from the left towards the right. Each picture of the card is marked twice on the board. A player can use both the marked spaces as long as it is not occupied by another player. A marker chip once placed cannot be moved until the use of one–eyed jack.
Sequence has 8 jacks in the deck of the cards, of which 4 are one-eyed and the other 4 are two-eyed. The two-eyed jack is used as wild card. On placing the one eyed jack, which is aptly termed as anti-wild, on the discarded pile of cards facilitates the player to remove a marker chip, placed on the board. A marker chip belonging to a completed sequence cannot be removed. During the game, the jack's ( wild and anit-wild) are the mot powerful cards.
Depending on the number of players and teams, the goal is to complete one or two 5-token sequences, either horizontally, vertically or diagonally. The first player (or team) to complete their sequence(s) wins the game.
