ORIGIN OF TRIVIAL PURSUIT
The game was created in 1979 by Scott Abbott, a sports editor for the Canadian Press together with Chris Haney, a photo editor for Montreal’s The Gazette. As a general knowledge game, it earned tremendous popularity since its official release in 1982 by Parker Brothers now Hasbro.
Today, multiple versions of Trivial Pursuit are sold. The questions have been adapted to challenge players of different ethnic backgrounds in 19 languages and 33 countries. Horn Abbot continued to twist out new add-ons of Trivial Pursuit in 1984. Trivial Pursuit was named to the "Games Hall of Fame" by Games magazine in the year 1993.
The game board is divided into squares arranged in a 6-spoked wheel shape. Each square is coloured, with one special square of each colour situated at the link of the "wheel" with each spoke in that order.
